Would PhD students be entitled to free dental care on the NHS (UK)?

A little confused about the details...can someone help me out?

Would PhD students be entitled to free dental care on the NHS (UK)?
NHS exemptions are only usually given to low income families or the disabled. If you are legally single and on a low income due to your studying you maybe able to apply for an discount and be able to claim back a percentage of NHS treatments or perscrptions. You can do this by obtainig an HC1 from your local Job Centre PLus or Dentist/Doctors Surgery/Opticans
Reply:Not if they are PhD students but appear to be a bit stupid!
Reply:It's unlikely as the NHS will only give full time students free treatment up to the age of 19. After that you can apply for reduced charges, ask at the doctors but unsure if you would qualify.
Reply:Free NHS treatment is given to international students provided that:

1. their courses are for more than 12 months' duration and

2. they attend full-time courses for 15 hours a week or more.

Full-time PhD students must obtain a letter from their university that confirms the two above points. Students then take that letter to register with a doctor and dentist. However, doctors and dentists have the right to refuse new NHS applications. If this happens, the students should request their universities to apply to their local NHS Primary Care Trust to be allocated to a doctor and dentist and they cannot then refuse to take the students.

I hope this helps.
Reply:No, as PhD students are not on Income Support. You'll have to think of another way to get your teeth sorted!

Would PhD students be entitled to free dental care on the NHS (UK)?

I'm a little confused about the details... can someone fill me in please?

Would PhD students be entitled to free dental care on the NHS (UK)?
I'm not sure whether you qualify automatically, but you could phone 0845 850 1166 and ask them to send you a HC1 form. You fill this in with details of your income and what important expenses you have to pay such as rent, council tax etc. If you qualify for full help you will be sent an HC2 certificate (which lasts for 1 year) which entitles you to free prescriptions, free NHS dental care and more. If you don't qualify for full help you might be able to get reduced rates. If you're not sure, it's always worth applying, they can only say you qualify or don't. It is especially worth calling them if you are trying to survive on a student loan.
Reply:I guess it depends on how you are funded but in general I would say no.
Reply:No. You are entitled to free NHS dental treatment up to the age of 19 if you are in full time education. After that you'll have to put your hand in your pocket.
Reply:nope sorry ull have to pay
Reply:I think up to 19 as long as you are in full time education your entitled to free treatment after that you have to pay the NHS fees unless you are on certain benefits, pregnant or a nursing mother.

I am a private nurse so am not 100% sure!

Does anyone know of a latex-free dental office in San Francisco?

I have severe latex allergy. I react not only to gloves but airborne particles of latex, so an office where they offer to use an alternative just for me, is not good enough.

Does anyone know of a latex-free dental office in San Francisco?
Since most dentist wear gloves these days as to the hygienist, you could simply purchase two pairs of non latex gloves and bring them with you to your appointment, explain the situation, and I am sure they would wear them for your visit.
Reply:Any office you want to go to ....can use laxtex free gloves.

Reply:You will have to apply for Medicaid to get "free" dental work.

try www.state.va.us then look up Department of Human Services.
Reply:There's a company out there that helps people who do not have and need affordable dental benefits. It includes all basic things and then surgery, crowns, even orthodontics. There's no high premiums, deductibles, co-pays, waiting periods, or anything like that at all. They can save you up to 80% on your out of pocket expenses for a very small fee every month. It could end up saving you a lot of $$ over traditional insurance. Try this website and you can check out the specifics and providers in your area. http://www.everyonebenefits.com/40424269... They are a wonderful company and are members of the BBB. I have benefits through them as well. Hope you find what you need. Please email me if you have any questions, and I'd be happy to help you if I can. Best of luck.

Anyone know how I can get free dental work?

I got a major tooth ache in the back of my mouth. I cant afford to pay to have it fixed by a regular dentist, was wondering if any one knows any loop wholes in the system or if there are any low income places I can go to.

Thanks,

Doc

Anyone know how I can get free dental work?
You can check at local colleges that have dental school and see if they'll do it.
Reply:try western dental they have low income dental care
Reply:One word: Tijuana
Reply:I gave my 9 year old son a toy dentist's kit for his birthady last month. I've asked him, and he'd be happy to help.
Reply:Local dental colleges usually offer dental services at cut rates because the work is done by students that are supervised by instructors. The only hang-up is that the appointments are not very flexible and you can expect to blow your entire day for 30 minutes of work.
Reply:Here in Britain it's hard enough to get a dentist. They cut people who are unemployed off there list, they started doing so when the Tories were in, and have continued with it. Glad I don't need them. Got nice teeth,
Reply:Go to a dental school but you will be taking your mouth into untrained hands but with supervision.
Reply:go to prison, have a baby and not get married, get it done under another name then tell them u forgot your checkbook and you will be right back, and dont come back!
Reply:Nothing in life is free!

Try to barter something like a service of some sort
Reply:if you call your local division of family services office the can usually reccomend a dental clinic or health dept. that will do dental work for a reasonable price...
Reply:There are low income dental places that will charge you on a sliding scare based on your income. I know of no places to get free dental, however you can go to a dental school and get big discounts on any work done there. Look in your phone directory for dental offices that accept medi-cal because they usually are also the sliding scale places. And there you also be a referal number listed for low income places. Do also a search on your computer for "low income dental" in your area.
Reply:If u have a college in your town see if thay have Dental School if its really bad go to the hospial
Reply:Dental schools usually offer treatments at a huge discount (some are 50% off). You might want to check the universities in your area.
Reply:Well, I know where you can get for free, your clothes, food, and all medical attention that you need. Join the Air Force! They'll even give you a handsome $$ bonus for just signing up.

Other than that, you will have to go to the welfare office and fill out their paper-work. If it's really severe, you can walk into the emergency room at a hospital. They can't turn you down. But it's a humiliating situation. One more thing that you can try is to walk in cold into a dentist office, and offer to clean up the place for a certain period of time, in exchange for tooth repair. What have you got to lose? You will have to become very creative in this case to achieve your goal.
Reply:Try a dental school if one is near!! Dr walker
Reply:Please refer to the scene in "Castaway" wherein Tom Hanks successfully removed a molar tooth using a skate blade and a rock.

Look, don't mess with tooth pain and infection as the consequences can be drastic. You can't afford not to have it handled!

Extensive, cheap or even better, free dental help near Denver?

I need gaps fixed, I need veeners, crowns, implants, whatever I can get to make my smile complete. I use to have a low-cost dentist but now he's partnering with a business that's charging way too much. I can't handle costs, my teeth are in bad shape. Please, any help is amazing.

Extensive, cheap or even better, free dental help near Denver?
Try a local university dental school, they will do most of the work cheap, it will be performed by a competent student close to graduation supervised by a well experienced dentist.
Reply:Call your local dental society. They are a non-profit organization that will give you the names of dentists that provide low cost, free or sliding scale fee services. A local school of dentistry will probably be on the list, as well.

What do you think about free dental and hospital care ?

Well, it wouldn't be free for me because I pay taxes in a higher bracket than average. But I'm sure those who CHOOSE to make minimum wage or not work won't mind getting taken care of medically. *sigh*

I signed up with them online over 2 years ago for all my dentistry work. They have helped me save thousands of dollars from extractions, root canals, cleanings. I know for a fact that all services are included especially orthodontics and dentures in the benefits. They had my membership active in 2 hours and was able to use the same day. I am very thankful that I found them. Check to see if they are in your area.

Good Luck. Hope this helps

Is there anyway to get free dental work in NYC? as far as extractions and bridgework?
the only way you can get free dental work done is if you have medicaid or a really good health insurance. the only way you can qualify for that is if you have low to no income.
Reply:Free dental... no none that I know of. Have you tried going to NYU Dental School or Columbia Dental School? Prices are cheaper compared to private practice dental offices. If you do opt to go to a dental school to get your work done, you need to know that things take longer in a dental school. The people treating you are dental students, and they have to follow school rules, follow ideal clinical protocol the school has laid out (jumping around in treatment is a big no-no), and fill out tons of paper work on your behalf (X-rays, Med History, Review of History, Perio charting, etc.). It's very possible that the first 2 visits, he or she will be doing paperwork and having an instructor or instructors evaluate their work to determine the ideal treatment plan for you. The more difficult your case is, the more visits you might need to come.
Reply:there is no way you can get free dental care in nyc. but you can get a discount on any dental care if you go to this website www.betterbenefits.info i use this and it saved me at least $3000 at my dentist. you can save money on bridgework and extractions too!
Reply:I have an alternative, it's not free but you at least get up to 80% off exams,

60% off x rays,cleanings, crowns and fillings

Extractions and bridgework is included as well..

I know there are providers in NYC also..

you can sign up today and use tomorrow!

Why do children with Medicaid(free dental insurance) have huge cavities and rotten teeth?

Are the parents of these children to lazy to take them to the dentist.. I guess so... they are too lazy to work.

Why do children with Medicaid(free dental insurance) have huge cavities and rotten teeth?
Most parents on welfare have lower IQ's and don't understand health %26amp; hygiene as well as people with higher IQ's, they don't have the ambition, or the education. They may be depressed or on drugs and just not care about the children. The welfare system is full of dysgenic people, people who have more and more children with lower and lower IQ's. The better educated people with higher IQ's pay taxes which support them and the upper eschelon have fewer children, or no children. Eventually this country may be overrun with stupid, rotten-mouth lazy bums. Pretty sad, and scary too.

Reply:I work with people with intellectual disabilities that know the importance of dental care. It takes a long time to get to the point that you can actually get on Medicaid. Also it's hard to take time off of work when you work a job where you make so little money as to qualify. Report It

Reply:you know its really not fair for you to judge someone just because you dont understand something . its actually called (baby bottle tooth decay ) and it can happen to any ones child . it comes from allowing you child to have a bottle to often , mostly at times when the child them selves refuse to drop the bottle for the cup ,,, hope this helps

Is there a dental school near chillicothe, ohio where I can receive free dental care?

It's a little drive for you, but at the OSU main campus in Columbus, the dental clinic is located there. The students do the dental work, (while interning) and they are overseen by licensed Dentists. These students put more care into what they are doing. They do wonderful work, because it is graded. My daughter went there to get some of her teeth fixed, and they treated her very well!

Is there a dental school near chillicothe, ohio where I can receive free dental care?
If you are in jail, then you get free medical care by law,

although I strongly suggest you don't go to jail just for a filling. :-)

Where can i get free dental surgery?

Go to a dental school, they usually do at a discount.

Where can i get free dental surgery?
In Greece you could go to the University clinic, where students practise (supervised by their teachers, of course). Perhaps there is something like that where you live. If it is serious, though, make sure the teacher does it and the students watch or help!
Reply:Dental Surgery is very safe nowadays. It is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges Eye surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.

I have also read that they arrange financing for American and Canadian patients, as dental surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor I personally believe that your surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

My cousin got her Dental and Lasik Surgery in India through the forerunners healthcare .She is more than very happy with the results. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company. Hope this helps

Does anyone know of free dental services offered?

Contact your local or state dental association and and see if there are any dentists who provide free or reduced cost care for low-income, disabled or senior patients.

Call your local health department and ask about health centers that provide dental care for free or on a sliding scale.

Your local United Way may also be aware of such a clinic. In some areas, you can reach them now by dialing 2-1-1 for "non-emergency information."

Go to a dental school, if there is one near you, for reduced costs.

If you are a senior citizen, call your local Area Agency on Aging or Office on Aging. If you can not find a listing in your local phone book on the "County Government" pages (usually marked with blue borders), call toll-free 1-800-677-1116 to find how to contact the Area Agency on Aging serving you.

Check http://www.toothwoman.net to see if low-cost or free dental services are available near you.

Check http://bphc.hrsa.gov and choose "Find a Health Center" to see if there is a low-cost clinic near you.

Check http://www.nfdh.org/DDS.html to see if your state has a "Donated Dental Services" program. D.D.S. is designed to locate dentists who will give free care to patients who are financially compromised due to medical problems. This is a process that will take a couple of months to get your information and then arrange for someone to see you. Not all states have D.D.S. programs.

I personally offer free care or reduced fee care or "overlook the bill" care when I know the exact circumstances of a person's financial position. If they have had a medical hardship, for instance, I am sympathetic. You can't come in just looking for free care, though. You have to come in with the intentions of doing the best you can and then I decide exactly how I am going to handle the financial aspect. I can usually tell who is actually trying to pay and who simply wants to skip out on me. I do not usually consider smokers to be in financial need, though. If they can find a couple thousand dollars a year for cigarettes, they could find the same amount of money and fix almost any dental problem. Maybe you can find a local dentist who has the same attitude.

Does anyone know of free dental services offered?
Depend on where do you live. I know there is a place in st Paul, MN. It is free but you have to wait in line for 2-3 hours.

I think you should call your local social worker/clinic/hospital or ask people who live near you. Dont be afraid to ask.
Reply:If you live in Arlington, Texas, you can go to the

Mission Arlington. They have a free dental clinic

once a week. Space is very limited. You have to call

ahead and get an appointment and may have to wait a few weeks for it.

If you live in Little Rock, AR , like I do now you are basicly out of luck for free dental care. Some dentists here offer payment plans, but you you have to have good credit and be able to pay at least $100.00 down. The rest they deduct out of your paycheck each week...minimum deducted about $80.00 a week.
Reply:Is there a dental school near you? The senior level students need people to practice on and they charge low low rates for volunteers. Don't worry, the teachers are standing right there! Good luck!

Am i entitled to free dental treatment?

my partner was made redundent, i work full time , he is on jsa, £59 a week, i am not entitled to full benifit so i have to pay most of the rent and council tax, i have other debts as well, i.e over paid council tax, housing benifit and working tax credit, £ 3000, from the year 2003/4 which i have to get loans to pay off the debt,

Am i entitled to free dental treatment?
Unfortunately, as you work full time you are not entitled to free dental treatment....harsh I know as money is tight. If you speak to citizens advice or NHS Direct's health information service they should be able to give you information as to whether you may be able to get help with health charges using the HC2 form...worth asking.

Good luck
Reply:No.
Reply:i dont think you are entitled to free denist, as you are working full time although ur husband would be able to get some sort of cheaper fees from the dentist.
Reply:Nobody (except if your pregnant) gets free.I'm in pain for ages as I've spent £1000 on one tooth last year and can't afford for the rest(I had to borrow that),I'm on a low wage.
Reply:As far as I know if you OR your partner are receiving JSA you should be entitled to free NHS dental treatment, failing that for people on a low income the NHS will sometimes agree to pay part of the cost, you would have to fill in a HC2 form which you can get at your surgery or chemist and await a reply from the board.
Reply:Because you are working full time then you are not entitled to free dental care I'm afraid, you have to be on income support of something similar to be entitled sorry :(

Do Canadian's get free dental insurance as well?

Unfortunately no, we don't. Most Canadians get dental coverage through work, and even then it's not always total.

Are oaps entitled to free dental care?

NO - they are not automatically exempt from NHS charges, unless as previously said they or their partner are on benefit like Income support or pension credits (must be guaranteed credit not savings credit) as also stated before they can apply for help with NHS costs using HC1 form, this is means tested to each individual and may come back saying they have full help (HC2) or partial help (HC3) It is worth applying to see what they say, worst case they say no and dont give any help but then you are no worse off! it could come back saying you pay nothing, £2.35, £16.89, £150.36 or any random ammount all specifically decide to suit the individual. This form also helps with other NHS costs like Glasses and wigs etc.

Hope this helps!! but do send off an HC1 form you can get one at the dentist or opticians, 10min of your time, and could save a fortune!!

I know a friends nan had to pay for her eye sight and she was in her 70's she queried it they said she was not on benefits as she had no proof. that was a few years ago it may have changed again. the best advice I can give is to either phone and ask the dental surgery or try to contact the local social security they would be in a better position to tell you a definite answer. good luck
Reply:Dental care is now denied to most people their practices are full up, and boy are the dentists cashing in on it in my area, you can't even get emergency treatment.in my area, ie NE LIncolnshire, and that's a fact, I spent nearly three days trying to get my wife treated, and then I had to resort to subterfuge to get her treated,at all!,and that's after attending the same dentists for many years! he didn't have the decency to inform us that we were not wanted as patients any more.

Where can you get free dental care in San Diego?

Contact your local or state dental association and and see if there are any dentists who provide free or reduced cost care for low-income, disabled or senior patients.

Call your local health department and ask about health centers that provide dental care for free or on a sliding scale.

Your local United Way may also be aware of such a clinic. In some areas, you can reach them now by dialing 2-1-1 for "non-emergency information."

Go to a dental school, if there is one near you, for reduced costs.

Not all states have D.D.S. programs.

Does anyone know of free Dental care for Senior Citizens in New Jersey.( Preferably Bergen County).?

Why don't you Google "bergen county new jersey?" You'll get the county website, and there will most likely be a human services page. If not, try the New Jersey state website.

Contact "Donated Dental Services," a charity care program for disabled or disadvantaged patients in New Jersey. The main phone number is 732-821-2977.
Reply:Try a dental school in one of your near by colleges. It is a dental student who would work on you, but it is cheaper for you and experience for them. Plus the instructor is there with them.

Where can I get free dental implants?

It all depends on where you live. Most clinics do not do dental implants. You might be able to have them done if you go to a dental school where you will have students do the work under the supervision of a professor. The drawback is that it often takes a long time to get the work completed. But it is something to look into.

Where can I get free dental implants?
No where, dental implants are expensive, I think $1,500 each, do judge the price, judge the dentist
Reply:Free probably no where, but you might be able to find a dental school/oral surgery school that needs patients for dental implants so you could get them cheaper.
Reply:Sorry, implants are not considered a medical necessity. There are a lot of people with missing teeth. (front teeth and back teeth) They either leave it alone, or (if they can't afford implants) they get a bridge. Even those are expensive. Depending on what needs to be done with the bridge they can be around $500-900.

Now, I have heard about dentists/oral surgeons who are all over the US and they are fixing teeth for free IF you were abuse by your spouse. One woman's husband had kicked her in the mouth and knocked most of her teeth out. She got implants, veneers, etc. for free.

When my M.I.L was in Hygenists school, they took volunteers in to have the students work on their teeth. So you might look for a dental type school near you.

Reply:Go to college students.
Reply:Some Suggestions:

Universities with Dental Schools offer free or affordable services.

Contact your counties Job %26amp; Family Services to see if you qualify for any benifits.

Call local dentists, explain your finances and see if they will do a payment plan.

Last Resort:

Emergency Rooms will treat you if you have an emergency dental situation (severe pain is an emergency) and give you a referral to a dentist. They will not solve your problem but they will do what ever can be done until you see a dentist. You will be charged (expensive) but when your bill comes contact the Billing Dept. Most hospitals will work out a payment plan or some will waive the entire bill if you qualify.

Best of luck to you.
Reply:Look for your local community clinic (or even not so local). Some of them offer dental services as well. It might not be free, but just like the medical services, you might be able to get them at a reduced fee depending on your annual income. If you already have Medicare, or Medicaid, or whatever it's called in your area, you might already be covered.

Are there any free dental clinics in central texas?

My brother was in a car accident and has sever damage to his teeth..he is in constant pain.

Are there any free dental clinics in central texas?
Was the accident his fault? Does he have comprehensive insurance?

Was the accident someone else's fault? Were they insured?

Was he the driver? Was he a passenger?

As the injury occurred in a MVA (motor vehicle accident), his or the other person's insurance may cover this. Your brother may want to contact his auto insurance agent (or the driver's agent, if he was a passenger) to see about this!

As another poster suggested, the local Department of Human Services or the local County or State Health Department may have an updated list of free dental clinics.

Reply:There is probably no free service for adults. Children can get free or reduced prices some places. Dental professionals need to get paid.

Search local community colleges and colleges for dental programs. If they have a dental hygiene or dentist program then they may have a public dental clinic. The school clinics are much cheaper than regular dentist offices.

If you are under 16 or under 19 and in full time education then you get free dental care. If you are older then it depends on your personal circumstances.

But your parents receiving tax credits has nothing to do with your free dental care.

Working Tax credits - Free dental treatment?

I receive 13.09 p/w for working tax credits. At the dentist today i had to pay, but apprently claiming the above i should of been given / applied for a exemption card. Does anyone know anything about this????

Working Tax credits - Free dental treatment?
Help with health costs

This means free NHS prescriptions, NHS dental treatment, NHS wigs and fabric supports, NHS eyesight tests, optical vouchers (towards the cost of glasses or contact lenses) and assistance with (reasonable) travel costs to receive NHS treatment under the care of a consultant.

You can claim help with health costs if you are getting

Child Tax Credit and Working Tax Credit, or

Working Tax Credit only which includes a disability element (for you) or severe disability element (for you or your partner), or

Child Tax Credit and you are not eligible for Working Tax Credit, and

your gross annual income (that is, before tax and National Insurance contributions are taken off) for 2005 is £15,050 a year or less. Your gross annual income is the figure shown on the front page of your tax credit award notice. Your award notice will also show if a disability or severe disability element is included.

If you get the relevant tax credit and are within the income limits, we will automatically send your details to the Patient Services of the Prescription Pricing Authority (PPA) who will then send you an exemption certificate. This certificate will be valid for the time stated on the certificate. If you live in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland you will be entitled to help on the same basis and will also be sent an exemption certificate by the Patient Services.

If you fall within any of the categories above but have not been sent your exemption certificate before you need to get treatment, you can sign an NHS treatment form on the basis that you are entitled to a certificate. You should use your tax credit award notice as proof of entitlement.

Most families who are entitled to one should receive their exemption certificate within a few weeks of receiving their tax credit award.

You will not be sent an exemption certificate if your income, for tax credit purposes, is more than £15,050. If your circumstances change, you should tell us straight away.

If your income rises above £15,050 a year, you can go on using your exemption certificate until it runs out, but you will not be sent a renewal certificate after that date.

If your income drops to £15,050 a year or less, the Patient Services will send you an exemption certificate but only if you have told us about the change and have received your revised tax credit award notice with the change of income shown.

Your exemption certificate will only be valid for charges you have incurred after the date you told us of your change of circumstances. So, if your income changes but you do not tell us about it, then you will not be entitled to claim exemption from charges until you do. The Patient Services will not be able to send out a certificate until we have sent that information to them.

If you are not automatically entitled to an exemption certificate because your annual income is above £15,050 you may still be entitled to some help with your health costs through the NHS Low Income Scheme. For more information pick up leaflet HC11 ‘Help with health costs’.
Reply:yep, you should apply immediatley and save the reciept from the dentist as you can claim it back. also works with prescriptions as well.
Reply:yes u should have been given an exemption card. m husband gets 26 a week for wtc and we both have one. if u have kept ur reciept u can claim ur money back by filling out a\a form (unsure which one u will have to ask your dentist) u should get in contact with the wtc office i think the number is 08453003900 and ask them why u havent got one. it took wtc about 3 or 4 month for htem to send us ours out but until u recieve it i would tick the box anyway and writew in ur national insurance number and if they ask explain that u are awaiting it in the post and take proof u claim wtc.
Reply:The NHS exemption card will be issued automatically if you are eligible.

It depends - if your household earns less than £15,050 a year, and what combination of WTC and CTC that you receive.

Phone the helpline and ask to check what the eligibility criteria is for the exemption certificate, in relation to your claim.

You can ask your local Dept of Works and Pensions or your local NHS dentist and they will advise you of what particular state benefits you need to be claiming to qualify for the free service. Hope this helps.

Reply:SORRY BUT THERE'S NOT A FREE RIDE WHERE DENTAL CARE IS CONCERNED. YOU MAY BE ABLE TO GET A DISCOUNT IF YOU'RE A SENIOR, BUT NOTHING IS "FREE" IN DENTISTRY EXCEPT THE TOOTHBRUSHES THEY GIVE AWAY.
Reply:Through personal experience. Being on pension credit I was exempt from payment.
Reply:If you're in the UK, yes, all you need is prove of entitlement!
Reply:No, but there is a great dental plan for only $19.95 per month, which helps you save up to 80% off your dental services! Feel free to contact me for additional information. I can be reached at 313-477-2064
Reply:no, but clari is right that u prob would if u get pension credit as its a means tested benefit like working tax credit. if dentist writes aprescription for u u will get this free in same way as if doctor had written it.
Reply:No such luck! not unless you are on certain benefits and you use an NHS dentist
Reply:It depends on your insurance plan. Try www.retirement-news.com, it has a lot of info about retirement benefits.

Can i get free dental work in new jersey?
Alrighty...none of these answers were helpful in the least, and I'm sorry.

Try AmeriPlan. I have them and you can save up to 80 per cent on dental care, even specialists.

I wish I would have signed up this month, because the full medical program (with vision, hearing, chiro) is $3 per month for 3 months.

dental is elective...why do you think you would get it free?
Reply:Yeah if you're an illegal immigrant. Why don't you do like most Americans that don't have insurance and pay for the work. The Dentist might be willing to put you on a payment plan
Reply:If you're an illegal alien, more than likely. If you're a US citizen, probably not.

Try at the local tech school and/or dentisty college. Sometimes they have good reduced rates if you don't mind being worked on by a student while the teacher observes.

How do i get the free dental (braces) and free eyeglasses after naval bootcamp?

If you are still in the military all you have to do is call the clinic on base and make an appointment with optometry. The glasses are free, but the military doesn't pay for braces. Sorry!

I need low cost or free dental work. Is there a dental school close to Austin Texas?

I need low cost or free dental work. Is there a dental school close to Austin Texas?
It depends on the dental work. If you need a cleaning, look up colleges with an Allied Health program, specifically Dental Hygeine. They usually charge less than $20.

For anything more advanced than that, you may need to do a web search for it.
Reply:you live in Austin Texas it shall be easy for you to fine out, call the dental schools there or look them up on line.
Reply:Here are a few sites to assist you with your search: 30 Nationwide Dental Plans with discounts on dental procedures. This Web site provides the address and contact information for clinics that offer Dental, Primary Medical, Obstetrical and Gynecological, Mental Health and Substance Abuse Care, Other Types of Medical and Support Services
Reply:You live in texas consider crossing the border to el rio dental clinic in El paso Its not free but should be much cheaper if you need anything cosmetic. For free go to your local health department and ask about programs for the uninsured in Texas the may have something that does charity work like other states do.

Reply:I have heard of people going to the dental schools to have work done. I think you would still have to pay some but the cost is much less than at regular offices. Also in some areas there are dental offices which work on a sliding scale and allow their patients to make payments. I hope this helps you I know how miserable it feels when a person has cavities.

Need cheap/free dental work in CA or help finding insurance A.S.A.P. - from tooth hurty?
Goto your city hall and ask about it. In my county in california, they have a dental program set up for indigent people.
Reply:get a friend to punch your face in, that should get rid of the sore teeth.
Reply:Dude you need to go get on medi-cal. Once you start the paperwork go to the dentist apt's. Tell them that you are applying for insurance and have none at the moment. They will ask for your addy and all that jazz to start billing you. The cool part is "medi-cal" is retroactive for 3 months before you apply.... so by the time your paperwork is all done and you are fully covered by medical and will have your card, give them the bill, there ya go. BTW are you retired or injured and can't work, the medi-cal office might send you to a "cal-works/jobs" class. Here is a site that might help, everything can be done online. Hope it works.
Reply:Jondelle,

Get that Ameriplan card that the prior responder told you about!

Without insurance it is the single best way to save money at the dentist plus you don't have to worry about any forms or pre-existing conditions!

Good luck!
Reply:YOU CAN TRY APPLYING FOR MED-CAL THATS WHAT MY FAMILY IS ON . THEY PAY FOR ALL YOUR APP. AND MOST PLACES TAKE IT, BUT IT DOES DEPEND ON YOUR INCOME IF YOU WILL BE APROVED FOR IT, BUT HAY TRY IT.

Is there free dental care available for indigents in los angeles, ca.?

Dental schools will usually provide free dental care so the students can practice - it's actually a good deal and they are watched so no mistakes are made - I've heard great things about it.

UNC dental school might be a possibility. Otherwise I would recommend talking to the school's nurse who should know or the local emergency room who might be able to refer you.
