I am a parolee in L.A county and free health care and dental care-can you suggest anything?

That’s funny that people are telling you to get a life when that’s what you’re trying to do. Anyway, I’ve included links to the LA free clinic, the County of Los Angeles Department of Health Services, and (this one looks the best) Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. The last link has a way for you to find out whether you are eligible for aid.

Once you have a little money, the least expensive way to get insurance is usually through your job. If you need private insurance, try MostChoice.com.

Good luck,

I live in canada where health care is free but why is dental not covered, isnt a smiling face important?

You people above are ALL WRONG.

Dentistry (most of it) isnt' simply cosmetic. Untreated decay can result in dibilitating infections, just like untreated diabetes, to cite just one example.

Also, in case you haven't noticed, the mouth is CONNECTED to the rest of the body. You can't drop it off like the dry cleaning and worry about it later.

To answer your question, the reason it's not covered? MONEY!!!!! $$$$$$ It would COST more and then taxes would go up and no one wants to raise taxes even for worthy issues like this.

if you don't LIKE that (and if you don't like having lots of uninsured people in the US, you Yanks out there!) try voting for more socialists... lol.

I live in canada where health care is free but why is dental not covered, isnt a smiling face important?
Yeah, well, it's more important to spend billions of dollars in Iraq than to waste it on oral health care on our own citizens, right?

Oh, wait.... Report It

Reply:because medical doctors specializes on the whole body, dentist is more concerned of the teeth alone and sorrounding parts, so medical and dental field have different or own specialization.
Reply:Hey, at least your not in England, they dont have dentists!
Reply:Dentists are a separate entity, doctors are controlled by the government, dentistry is considered cosmetic. I liked Steve O answer, at least we have dentists.
Reply:Yes, firstly your taxes will go up, up, up.

Secondly, dental treatment is very open to rorting by overservicing or poor quality. Just look at what happened in the UK under the NHS. It's very difficult to police.

Public health systems for the poorer members of the community (like we have in Australia) have long waiting lists, and have financial restraints such that treatment like RCTs, crowns just aren't offered. It's largely made up of emergency treatment, fillings, extractions, and ultimately plastic dentures.

Is there a way to get free or very low dental treatment costs in orlando or west palm beach, fl?

Try dental schools.

http://www.technical-schools-guide.com/f...

For information about reduced-cost dental treatment, contact your local dental school. Dental schools often have clinics that allow dental students to gain experience treating patients while providing care at a reduced cost. Experienced, licensed dentists closely supervise the students.

Call Nova-Southeastern in FT. Lauderdale. I believe they have a dental school.

Where can a senior citizen get free or low cost dental work?

Dental care for seniors can be a costly expense. Most seniors cannot afford dental insurance and suffer because of it. By joining a dental plan seniors, 62 and over, can get affordable, discount dental care services from quality providers as low as $6.00/month. Additional resources for low cost or free dental care can be found on the links below

Where can a senior citizen get free or low cost dental work?
They can get certain dental insurance plans and use those at supporting dentists.
Reply:Depending on where (what state) you live, consider:

-community health centers as they often have dental clinics

-dental schools

Things to consider:

Many states offer dental care to folks who qualify for medicaid. Many clinics, including dental schools, offer a sliding scale for their fees.

Check out this website to find a community health center near you: http://ask.hrsa.gov/pc/

NOTE:

Even if they do not list dental, call the closet center and ask about dental care. I looked at states I know about and not all the information was there, so don't assume dental care isn't provided.
Reply:You should check with your local social work agency. They often have agencies that are geriatric related. Here in Michigan, for example, we have an agency called the Area agency for Aging and they supply a bunch of information on low cost services for the elderly. Good Luck!
Reply:Take a look at what I can offer, for one person it's only $11.95 a month. go to www.mybenefitsplus.com/bigsavings you could also save on vision, prescription and chiropractic.

Bush cut student aid for needy college students

During the Bush years, the cost of health care has gone up over 30%

Bush has sent thousands of young men to die in a war started on false pretenses.

Does anyone know of a free or low-cost dental clinic in the Palo Alto area?

There are two low-cost dental clinics operated by two dental schools in San Francisco (Palo Alto is near there I believe), at the University of California at San Francisco and at the University of the Pacific.

Hope this helps.

If your town or a near by town has a medical school or college there should be a dental school. They may charge a small fee or maybe be free. Check them out.

Why can Castro give Cuba free universal medical and dental and we cant even take care of our own?

Cuba even weathered last year's hurricanes better than America

Why can Castro give Cuba free universal medical and dental and we cant even take care of our own?
The American Medical Association has opposed universal health care for decades. The popular term "Socialized Medicine" was coined by an ad agency working for the AMA to make it sound like universal health care is a communist plot.

Further, it would offer benefits to regular people and increases taxes paid by businesses and rich folk, so the republicans oppose it.

In other words, the folks running this country are too greedy.

How can I get free money for my dental work?

I need 3 implants and 4 crowns and 2 veneers a crown lengthening and bleaching.

How can I get free money for my dental work?
Your question made me laugh. You're wanting free money for teeth bleaching?!!!

Man, I need three root canals, and I have teeth that are killing me with pain, but I wouldn't think of being here asking how to get free money to get dental work done, even though it's legitimate dental work (not bleaching or veneers)!! You've got some nerve.

I have dental insurance, but even with it, the copays are outrageous and I'm having to save up for my dental work.

Why don't you get a dental insurance plan then save up for the cosmetic dentistry work that you're wanting done??

That's the only way to do it in this country...unless you get chosen for Extreme Makeover or something.
Reply:find a job with good dental coverage. for what you need it would pay to take a cut in pay to work a job with good benefits versus salary. i just came back from the dentist for a cleaning. he told me i need almost $3000 worth of work, which isn't close to the amount you need. my insurance will only pay @ $250. good luck.
Reply:None of the dental procedures you have mentioned fall in the category needing emergency attention, so why do you need free money. You may uphold your dignity by earning, saving, and then get the treatment done under due coverage as may be provided by your insurance.
Reply:Dental and Laser eye surgery have become very common now. My cousin got her dental implants and lasik surgery in India by a company called Forerunners Healthcare. The Price for dental and lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories.

They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India. as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Many patients travel from United States of America and UK to get low cost surgery in India. Indian corporate hospitals are comparable to hospitals anywhere in the world. In fact, India has medical facilities that are comparable with the USA, UK and Canada. India offers World Class Medical Facilities, comparable with any of the western countries. India has state of the art Hospitals and the best medical experts. With the best infrastructure, the best possible Medical facilities, accompanied with the most competitive prices, you can get the treatment done in India at the lowest prices.

Where can I get free or low cost dental care?

Where can I get free or low cost dental care?
I have been a dental assistant for 10 yrs. As far as organizations that help with this, no. But I will say, that to get a dentist to do free or low cost dental care, you are going to have to show him why you are more deserving than the last 100 people who asked him the same thing. I know that most people don't realize this, but dentists get asked to do free or low cost dental care all the time. Most dentists will do this alot, but they pick and choose which patients are deserving.

For example, we had a man come into the office. He wasn't even asking for free or low cost work. After asking him alot of questions we found out that he was a single dad of 3 kids. His ex-wife had abandoned all of them 10 yrs or so before and had never helped financially nor had she even seen the kids. We gave him a huge discount on his dental work.

But on the other hand, a woman came in acting like she was better than everyone, had tons of jewelry on, nice clothes, cell phone, the works. The one thing that she didn't have was dental insurance, so she wanted us to give her a huge brake on her dental work, even though it was obvious that if she cut back on some extras in her life that she would have more money to pay for dental work, So we told her "Sorry, we can't help you."

You cant just ask for free dental work in most cases, without proving that you are truely deserving of it.

I dont mean to me judgemental, but there are hundreds of others who think that they are just as deserving as you, and if you are looking for a dentist to help you out with this, you have to know that they have to draw the line somewhere.

Reply:there are no such things as low cost dental care ...I wish there was
Reply:It is all relative, because there is no such thing as low cost dental care or free care. The saying goes "You get what you paid for". Good luck.

Are there any free or low cost dental schools in Houston?

There is one in the Medical Center. Unfortunately my daughter had to go all the way to Mexico to get the treatment she needed because after two weeks of research, no clinic or private doctor would help her based on her income. Sad to say that there are no dentists in Houston that will devote any time to someone who is in so much pain. What goes round, comes around - so Houston dentists need to get a grip. Houston has a lawyers referral for people needed an attorney based on their income. But there is nothing of that kind in Houston for people in pain.

Does sugar-free gum have any dental or hygiene benefits?

No. As a matter of fact, if you have ANY amalgam fillings, chewing gum accelerates the release of mercury vapor from the fillings. The amalgam fillings (silver fillings) do not bond to the teeth. The way they are installed by making the drilled cavity in the tooth larger at the bottom and smaller at the top hold the filling in like a wedge. The interstitial space between your tooth and the filling is where the bacteria thrives. The liquid mercury contained in the filling (over 50%) leaches out and is supposed to kill the bacteria. It does this for about 5 years. After that, an infection happens and in many cases biofilms are generated that are the precursor to cancer and even infections to the brain. This mercury has been linked to not only cancer issues, but Alzheimer's.

To view a graphic demonstration how mercury causes brain damage leading to Alzheimer's, go to the following web site:

http://commons.ucalgary.ca/mercury/

This is the web site for the University of Calgary School of Medicine where they conducted an extensive research project on mercury and how it affects brain tissue. The amount of mercury used in this experiment is 100 to 1,000 times less than what you get out of brushing your teeth or chewing gum each time you do it.

No wonder Alzheimer's disease is so rampant in our society today. Flu shots contain huge amounts of mercury, in fact, all vaccines contain huge amounts of mercury as a preservative in all vaccines, except in a few children's vaccines recently changed due to pressure from educated groups insisting it be removed. Thimerosol is the culprit in the vaccines.

Your dentist has been instructed by the ADA ( American Dental Association ) to not inform you about the dangers of Amalgam fillings. In fact, if he tells you they are bad and that information is relayed to the ADA, that dentist will lose his license. He is required by law to give you a paper prepared by the ADA to tell you it's O.K. to use the silver, mercury laced filling material. If you don't believe this statement, just simply ask your dentist if this is true. You will be amazed at the answer. This is happening in America!

The artificial sweeteners they use in the sugar-free gums have been shown to contain 92 different side effects in the human body that express themselves as diseases that most people do not relate to the garbage.

Bottom line is do not chew gum at all. It is not healthy for you regardless of what all the marketing hype says.

good luck to you

Does sugar-free gum have any dental or hygiene benefits?
it will help a bit i would say however the sugar is replaced wit sweetners which can be worse than sugar
Reply:Chewing gum after meals will increase the amount of saliva in your mouth. This will make the food particles left dissolve quicker, lessening the chance for cavities. Regular gum would still introduce sugar into the process and would there for only increase the amount of food needed to be dissolved.
Reply:Well there is a school of thought that believes that the action of chewing produces enzymes which prevent plaque and bacteria forming on the teeth and gums. Another school of though says that the action of chewing produces stomach acid in preparation for food which isn't consummated leaving an excess of acid in the stomach. I am not too sure if this is now an urban myth or not.
Reply:yes, it does help. Depending on what type of sugar replacement, xylitol is better than sorbitol. Recaldent which is a new type of chewing gum that has been developed with CPP-ACP ( derived from milk protein) can help to remineralise teeth. I think you can only get Recaldent from the dentists.
Reply:Yes definitely. If you are using sugar-free gum to freshen your breath, it is much better than gum with sugar. Sugar in the gum that you chew can feed the bacteria already in your mouth and can actually worsen your breath. It also depends on the gum that you use. I've been using Therabreath chewing gum by Dr. Harold Katz. It is sugar free and oxygen powered, so it eliminates dry mouth. It helps neutralize the Volatile Sulfur Compounds (the real cause of bad breath) in your mouth.

My suggestion is avoid sugared gum as much as you can, it really does nothing but temporarily mask bad breath and make it come back with a vengeance.

Free samples of condoms, dental dams, and all methods of preventing STDs other than abstinence?

My stepdaughter has become sexually active, and her father and I want to educate her about them. Due to her mother's parenting style, she has opportunities in abundance and has made use of them. We've done our very best to educate her to use better judgment than this, up to and including court actions, so please refrain from making judgments on our parenting. Internet resources would be appreciated.

Free samples of condoms, dental dams, and all methods of preventing STDs other than abstinence?
If you go to the Trojan website you can order 1 free sample, and there may be other condom companies who do this as well. There should be sex education classes offered in your area for free or very cheap (and if there isn't, someone should do something about that!), and many times they give out free samples at the classes.

You can order a large variety of things at an affordable price from ozonecondoms.com. It is a condom shop (not an "adult store") in Boise, Idaho that primarily sells condoms and other sexual health accessories. They offer a large variety of condoms, many flavors of dental dams, lubricants and sexual health books.
Reply:Well preventing pregnancy is easier than the STDs. Since you can't count on her to be responsible I'd choose a 5 year protection. I would opt to have a norplant implant put in. Norplant is an effective, long-acting, reversible contraceptive for women that protects for up to five years. Six thin, flexible capsules made of a soft, rubberlike material, filled with a synthetic progestin, are inserted just under the skin of a woman's upper arm in a minor surgical procedure. The implants do not contain estrogen.

http://www.popcouncil.org/biomed/norplan...

STDs -- Other than the items you mentioned there is nothing available to help. Perhaps your local hospital offers a STD education program as some do. A bit of education might help her. I know you have been teaching her but a hospital program might reach her from another angle.

How do you get some free or very low cost dental help?

How do you get some free or very low cost dental help?
Contact your local or state dental association and and see if there are any dentists who provide free or reduced cost care for low-income, disabled or senior patients.

Call your local health department and ask about health centers that provide dental care for free or on a sliding scale.

Your local United Way may also be aware of such a clinic. In some areas, you can reach them now by dialing 2-1-1 for "non-emergency information."

Go to a dental school, if there is one near you, for reduced costs.

Check http://www.toothwoman.net to see if low-cost or free dental services are available near you.

Check http://bphc.hrsa.gov and choose "Find a Health Center" to see if there is a low-cost clinic near you.

D.D.S. is designed to locate dentists who will give free care to patients who are financially compromised due to medical problems. This is a process that will take a couple of months to get your information and then arrange for someone to see you. Not all states have D.D.S. programs.

Reply:he coulda saved up enough by now... it was 8 years ago! here in canada, if he went on social assistance they would pay for it.... then he could just get off of it when his teeth were fixed.. lol my friend did that
Reply:+ Try the closest dental school. They do discount work so the students can get experience. and a regular dentist is supervising them. Also see if they can take a payment plan. This sounds like it will take several visits.
Reply:Although free, primarily cosmetic, dental help is more difficult to find, then say medically necessary aid, it is out there. Start by calling your local social services center as your friend may qualify for insurance through the state. Social service offices will also usually know about other aid foundations that are sometimes willing to help, we actually have several in the area of the country where I am from. Also dental schools often do this kind of work for free or very inexpensively, call around. Don’t give up, keep making phone calls, if all else fails start calling dentists, you never know who may be willing to cut your friend a deal. Good luck.

Reply:all your teeth??well ill tell something that wont help but its a start. "nothing is free".maybe you can get it cheap somewhere
Reply:You can try a dental college. It's not free but the prices are significantly less. I've had extractions done for free and other work for less. You can try negotiating a price, couldn't hurt to ask. Or a credit card specially made for dental work. It's low interest long term rates. Or ask your doc if they offer payment plans. Or call around to see if a dentist in your area does pro-bono work. Or you can post a free ad in your area at craigslist.com and see if anyone offers free dental work. Good luck!

Where can i find dental schools who need patients to do dental work for free or little cost in N.H..?

I am not aware of a dental school in New Hampshire, but here are some other suggestions about finding low cost care.

Check http://www.nfdh.org/DDS.html to see if your state has a "Donated Dental Services" program. D.D.S. is designed to locate dentists who will give free care to patients who are financially compromised due to medical problems. This is a process that will take a couple of months to get your information and then arrange for someone to see you. Not all states have D.D.S. programs.

Where can i find dental schools who need patients to do dental work for free or little cost in N.H..?
OK, you are brave! Go to your local community college, and they should have a dental class. Notice that I said CLASS! These are students working on you, with a licensed dentist in attendance. If they ask you if you have a sensitive mouth, do yourself a favor, and say YES! I had my teeth cleaned at a dental class, and my mouth hurt me for two weeks! Just trying to prepare you.
Reply:I don't know about schools but some clinics or Health Departments have dentists and charge based on income. Call around to Hospitals or Social Services and ask if they know of anyplace that can help you. good luck.

Is there a dental school in Indianapolis that will do your dental work for free?

No dental school anywhere will do your work for free. All dental schools, however, do work at a significantly reduced cost. Plan on making several trips there without having your chief complaint addressed, too. Things take quite a bit longer to get done in a dental school than in private practice. The best part about it is that you will have the opinions and experience of several dentists rather than just one in a private office. I hope I answered your question.

no, there is no free money to fix up the homes of older people and dental care unless they are very low income and then these are very limited programs.

Do dental and orthodontics school students offer to do jaw surgery for free?

Does anybody know if Dental and Orthodontics schools have a program where their student will perform lower jaw surgery for free or a discounted rate?

Do dental and orthodontics school students offer to do jaw surgery for free?
If you really need jaw surgery, it will not be done by a 'student' - it would be done by an oral surgery resident. a resident is someone who has a doctorate, but is training in a specialty, such as oral /maxillofacial surgery. they are the best of the best to even get INTO those programs AND they're monitorred by attending doctors.

If you watch, say, House or ER on TV, you'll see residents -- they aren't as smart as the older docs, but they're still capable of saving lives and all that good stuff.

So, call the dental school, explain what you need and they'll set you up a referral. you will have ot talk to the docs in that program with some sort of xrays and consultation; after that they'll be able to give you an idea of how much it will cost. DEFINITELY less than in teh private sector, for sure.
Reply:Around here they do. Why don't you just call the schools in your area and ask if they offer a program like that? What could it hurt. If anything, you could probably have the procedure done at a lower price.
Reply:would you trust them too????
Reply:There are dental schools at university that do low cost and no cost procedures. Generally, the waiting list is VERY long and the procedures performed are at the skill level of students who are being monitored by Dentists who have already graduated and teach at the school.

Call the local university which has a dental school near you and they can advise you about their policies for patient care.

If you are in a dire circumstance, call your county health department for a referral.

Good luck.
Reply:Orthodontists and dentists cannot perform jaw surgeries. This type of surgery is performed by medical doctors who specialize in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery. You may be able to find medical schools that have clinics that would offer reduced pricing. I did a quick Google search and have included a link below that provides an example of this type of clinic. Whatever you decide, med school clinic or licensed MD, make sure you do some research before you have this surgery. There are many risks with this type of surgery, including short term numbness (common), long term numbness, and facial paralysis (rare) because of the nerves that run through your jaw. If you choose to go with a medical school clinic, make sure that the procedure will be fully supervised by an experienced oral surgeon. Good luck! If you decide to go through with the surgery, you should check out yahoo groups. They have some excellent orthognatic (and related) surgery communities.
Reply:You need an oral surgeon. An orthodontist or dentist cannot perform jaw surgery.

I understand that dental procedures are quite expensive, but are you that desperate?

Give me a great thesis on why should some americans recive free health and dental insurance?i need helponthis!

Sorry, can't help you. I don't believe in a welfare state. No one deserves a free ride. If you're indigent, for whatever reason it's YOUR FAULT! There are plenty of jobs out there and there is no excuse for not having one of them.

Freebies should be in the pervue of churches and other charitable organizations not supported by taxpayers. Get religion and get your teeth fixed!

Give me a great thesis on why should some americans recive free health and dental insurance?i need helponthis!
Some people who cannot afford health care should be given free or subsidized care because the cost of preventing health problems is much cheaper than the cost of curing health problems. If the government focuses on preventative care for those who cannot afford it on their own, the entire health care industry will be reformed and will operate More efficiently. It has been reported that every $1 spend on preventative care saves $4 or curative care. If the government made this investment, a great deal of money would be saved in the long run.
Reply:Americans in certain financial status need to have free health and dental insurance to prevent future medical problems. Upkeep is the key.. if we don't prevent, then these individuals end up on welfare and then society is helping to pay for their upkeep which with upkeep they could have avoided many of the illnesses in their future. Let's prevent it before it gets to that point. Arkansas has a great insurance plan for family's that are below a certain financial status. They provide the insurance for the children of these families.. There is two plans A and B.. the A is free for the very low income families and the B plan is basically for low income families that have to pay a small visitation fee and medication fee. When I was taking Social Problems we discussed the insurance issue and almost everyone agreed that if we can provide checkups and help to those who can't afford it then it would help our society out in the long wrong because it cost less to do check ups than it does to take care of the different illness'.

Check into different medical and dental insurance plans in other countries like , Canada..Switzerland.. where I believe in this country it is mandatory that everyone has insurance.. just like we do for our vehicles. Hope this helps.. Good luck with your thesis..
Reply:There is no such thesis.

Where can a person get free or very low dental care in Alabama?
You could go to a dental school where they practice on patients with an overseeing dentist for low cost, but each session is like 3 hours long! ( I tried it a few times!)

Or you can get a discount medical card (like I did!)

The company is AmeriPlan USA and they have 4 different plans for people who can't afford normal insurance coverage.

It covers all on-going medical and dental problems, with no physicals or paperwork to fill out. If this is something you are considering, I can tell you how it personally works for me.. and you can contact some of the dentists and doctors in your area to see the savings you could recieve with Ameriplan.

At the website you can click on the contact section.. and it gives my phone #. I'm central time, so I only ask that you don't call after 9. p.m. Thank you!
Reply:Try contacting your local dental society in Alabama and get the names of dentists that provide services to low income patients for free or sliding scale. You may have to call the American Dental Association first. Here are the links to the Amer. Dental Assoc., Alabama Dental Assoc. and the Birmingham Dental Assoc.

Depending on what state you live in (just enter your zip code), they offer some dental plans as low as $79.95 a year! You can even compare plans to see which one would be better depending on what work you think you might need. Good luck to you.
Reply:Call a Dental school near you. They are usually affiliated w/ a teaching hospital. You will be treated by resident dental students under very strict teaching supervision. They will usually charge only for materials. I know of several people who have done this. You may have to be put on a waiting list.
Reply:Call the dental society in your county or a nearby county. They can usually give you the numbers to clinics that offer low cost, sliding scale or free dentistry in your area.

BEWARE if you are shopping for a dental plan. A lot of the so called "discount" plans that offer coverage for a flat fee per year are rip offs. I know this, they offer little discount on an offices fees and then you are out the money you spent on the plan.

good luck!

Why don't Americans have a free healthcare\dental care system like Britain's NHS?

Can you not afford it?

Why don't Americans have a free healthcare\dental care system like Britain's NHS?
The only way that that any country pays for universal healthcare is to jack up the taxes. As it is, the U.S. is still trying to stick the free market approach instead of becoming socialist, given time, the U.S. may eventually switch over.
Reply:i bet its not free. some one has to pay for it.
Reply:I wish we did, because that would end so much strife over here, I would think. Medical care should be free, or at least not sooooo much.
Reply:We believe in working in this country. If you don't work, you shouldn't expect someone else to take care of you. Not like Europe, where they have those grueling 35 hour work weeks!
Reply:That's a very goood question----I ask it myself often. I'm sure our government can afford it--they just don't do it.

I, for one American, wish they would. It would almost be worth moving to some country that does have it. Thank you for asking the question. It will be interesting to see the responses.
Reply:Americans are held collectively at gun-point by corporations. They claim to be a democracy, but in fact their nation is a corporocracy: a state run by and for corporations. In such an environment, laws that dictate that corporations must always maximize their short-term shareholder profits translate directly into more human misery, and paradoxically far higher medical costs because treatment is vigourously discouraged.

I live in Canada, where universal healthcare is a fact and it costs far less than the American system. Access to universal healthcare has saved my life.
Reply:The fact of the matter is, health and dental care in the United States is a BUSINESS, and a way to make money, not a matter of caring for human beings. Profit is the only thing that matters.

Britain's NHS works beautifully. Yes, it is paid for by TAXES, however the cost of supplying PROFIT to greedy corporations is ELIMINATED, making the OVERALL cost of health care LESS.

Info on where to find free info on dental grants without having to pay for the infomation?
There are no dental grants. You may be able to get help with your dental needs by visiting universities that offer dentistry - their students need patients and you may even be given a free dental service.

The government is NOT in the business of giving away free money for the sake of giving away money. There are no dental grants, grants for paying bills, or for getting out of debt. Grants are free, but it means OBLIGATION. You will be obligated to do as the grant sets out to do. Grants have objectives, and your purpose must fit the objective of the grant.

For one, you have to write the grant application and the grant application is not a simple document - you have to explain how your purpose for applying for the grant fits well with the objectives set out by the grant.

There is a stringent review process through a committee. You will compete with other applicants for the grant money, and this grant review committee will evaluate the merits of each proposal. Only those that they feel exemplifies the objective of the grant will be approved.

You can go to the Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) http://www.cfda.gov and Grants.gov http://www.grants.gov - these are two sites created by the federal government to provide transparency and information on grants. Browse through the listings and see if you can find any grant that would support your purposes.

Reply:My hubby is just like you. He always requests and gets laughing gas before anything is done to his mouth. You might want to do the same.
Reply:Ask about an anti-anxiety prescription
Reply:It's all about a positive attitude....Most people are nervous because they had a BAD experience some other time....Medication isn't good to be dependent on, Take an ipod or even some Motrin or aleve before it should help...

Does anyone knows of any dental school in new england that gives free sevice to dental implant subject?

No. No free service for adults. You CAN visit a dental college for cheaper priced, high quality service but it is never free.

Visit ada.org and search their website for dental colleges in your state.

You may want to call your local dental colleges. Dental implants are very expensive and quite a lengthy process. I doubt that they will, however it doesn't hurt to ask them.

Free medical insurance and dental in cali??

hello, im a 21 year old student who needs insurance! my family doesnt qualify for free insurance from the state, but my mother is not working to get insurance. does anyone know of a free or at least cheap way to get insurance? thank you.

Free medical insurance and dental in cali??
This is what we use.

http://www.mybenefitsplus.com/JBurke

It’s a discount card, saving you up to 80% off service for medical, Dental, Vision, and Prescriptions. Just an example, my husband was looking into eye surgery, and his doctor was charging $5,000, we showed him our card and the price when down to $2,700. It’s great for those, like us, who can’t afford traditional insurance.
Reply:Sorry, but if you don't qualify for Medi-cal from the state there is no other free insurance.

You can lower your premium if you go with a higher deductible. Don't be afraid of a higher deductible. On most policies you don't have to meet the deductible for doctor visits and prescriptions. The deductible will come into play if you go into the hospital.

You should visit a local independent agent. This person knows the market in your area and can find a good policy for your situation plus they don't charge you anything for the service. I don't know what you consider cheap but you should be able to get a decent policy for less than $100.

You might get some answers concerning medical discount cards. Be very wary of them, most are scams and at best only give you a small discount. They are not regulated by the Department of Insurance nor do the people that sell them need to be licensed. This means you have little recourse when you have problems with the plan. If you are tempted by the low price and claims of “save up to 80%” be aware that very few doctors actually take these cards. It does you little good if you have to drive 4 hours to find a doctor that will accept the card. One state couldn’t find any doctors in that state that took the card and only one dentist who was on probation for unlawful activities so they banned the sale of the card. See this link http://www.insurancejournal.com/news/wes... for more information. Many other states are starting to ban these cards.

Before signing up with any discount plan get a list of doctors. If they won’t give you a list consider it to be a scam. Call the doctors on the list to make sure they’re still taking the card (many don’t even know that they’re listed as a provider) and that they’re accepting new patients.

Most dental policies are not that good and if you only need a checkup or a cleaning you're better off without insurance. If you need more consider a fee for service type of dental discount plan. This plan has a set fee for a procedure, not a percentage off like a regular dental discount plan. I'm an insurance agent and my personal plan is the fee for service plan. I got mine here http://www.dpbrokers.com/default.aspx?lo... specifically the Aetna Dental Access plan but which one you get depends upon your area and comparing the fee schedule to find the best for what you need covered.

Is there any good free/low cost dental clinics in Chicago?

I have a tooth that is broke in half and has been this way for a long time now, and it hurts really bad, I need it pulled and I also have a lot of tartar build up on one of my back upper teeth that causes me more pain than anything. I think my gum is infected. I have only had 1 other cavity my whole life and I am 32 yrs old. My teeth are going to hell and I just dont have insurance through my job, and money is really tight. Any help would be appreciated!

Is there any good free/low cost dental clinics in Chicago?
If you can't afford insurance try a discount company. Ameriplan is a good one. $19.95/mo. for the entire household related or not. This is not insurance so you can go to the dentist within 24hrs of enrolling and you can check for providers in your area right on the website. Hope this helps!

The best site providing free information about dental morphology?

i want a site that can help me wuth my studies in dentistry because i live in egypt and lots of things arent properly taught here in our faculties

The best site providing free information about dental morphology?
I couldn't resist looking up 'morphology' because there are so many fancy new words on the go for these sort of professions! Why I don't know, except they probably charge more? Optometrist or some such title is used for a guy that gives you an eye test for specs!! etc etc.

However 'morphology' means:-

The study of animal and plants or of words!!!!

So while I understand that animals may require a dentist, there are very few plants that do, except may be that fly eating thing??

Now that I have finished 'taking the pi**, back to your question, first let me say that I worked in Egypt for over 5 years and I think the people are great, very friendly and the trainees I was looking after in the field of Engineering were well educated, most could speak at least a couple of languages, as well as Arabic, that's more than I can!! So your education system cant be that bad!!

I will assume that you want to become an animal dentist?? I still cant quite figure that out, I thought vets did all that stuff? But there is nothing in this part of the world that is 'free'!!

All I can suggest is that you type in 'Dental morphology' onto your search engine and see what pops up!

Maybe even an open universality course, but it wont be free!!

Whatever, I really do wish you luck in your search!!

What Dental School can I become a patient at for free or for a minimal fee?

I need Dental Work done and am considering a student to use me as a patient. Where is a dental school that will provide this service to me for free or at a minimal charge?

What Dental School can I become a patient at for free or for a minimal fee?
go to www.freedental.com

This will give you some answers. also it depends on where you live.
Reply:none. you still have to pay at dental schools. the prices are about half. the problem is the amount of time it takes to get care there. if you got a minimum wage paying job and worked for the amount of time that you're going to be up at the dental school, you could afford to have an experienced dentist do your work.
Reply:It just depends on were you live. I don' t think you get treatment for free but at reduced rate and they may go by your income.
Reply:he sounds awful high even if they were 3rd molars- get other quotes- get copies of your xrays to show the other dentists and that will save the cost of new xrays if they are current

Nope

Ask a dentist to do some horse trading. Find other people in your situation and ask them if they know of any dentist that have given them a hand. I know I have a ton of projects around my office that I would gladly trade for, however, I haven't ever been asked by anyone and I can not ethically solicit such help. Can't hurt to ask.

No you can't know where I'm located.

Good luck

I need free or cheap dental in b.c.?

How do i go about seeing a dentist with no insurance and also not a whole lot of money especially up front? thx

I need free or cheap dental in b.c.?
Hi. You might want to try http://www.apdiscounts.com . They are not insurance but better because there are no waiting periods, no deductibles, no limits. For 1 person its only $11.95/month and for an entire family its $19.95/month. Go here or on the website to see what providers are in your area. http://providersearch.ameriplanhealth.co... I have not personally used the dental but I have used the medical in which I ended up in the hospital for 2 days and they took $2000.00 of my hospital bill. The medical is $49.95-59.95/month and the dental is FREE with the medical. Hope this helps. Katherine.
Reply:Look for a Dental School
Reply:There is one single dental school in British Columbia, and that would be in Vancouver at the University of British Columbia.

Their website: http://www.dentistry.ubc.ca/dental_clini...

Because their fees are only about half that of a regular dentist, they have a long waiting list. Can't hurt to try though if you are in the area.

Hope this helps.

Air Force Spouse...will they do my dental repair for free?

I have heard of them helping spouses with other health problems, so i was wondering if they help us out with dental damage (non-cosmetic) and pay for it. If yes, how does one go about getting this?

Air Force Spouse...will they do my dental repair for free?
Your husband has to have you signed-up for the dental plan. It is a monthly fee that comes directly out of his pay, so he will know if he signed you up or not. The plan comes under United Concordia. You should also have a card, just like you do for Tricare.

Once you know for sure that you have it, you are required to go to an in-program dentist. You can call them to find one or look on the Web site. There is a deductable you have to meet for fillings and such, but all cleanings and most preventative dental work is free.

There number is 1-800-866-8499.

The Web link is www.TRICAREdentalprogram.com

Good luck!
Reply:Depending on what needs to get done depends on the amount you will pay. general routine care is covered 100% (filings, cleaning) for my root canals it was 70/30 I paid the 30%. There is also a benefit cap.

That is if your hubby is signed up for it. For family plan its about 27 a month right now i believe
Reply:It would depend on where you are stationed. If you are stateside, then you will need to have your spouse sign up for the dental plan. It is about $27.00 per month. Once you have that in order, you can use a preferred dentist within the plan. There is a deductible that you will have to pay though. It was 70/30...we pay 30% and there is a benefit cap. Some services, like cleaning for the kids, did not require the deductible.

If you are overseas, you should be able to have the work done at a MTF for free without deductibles or percentages. Dependents here go in for a "sick-call exam", it usually takes about 3 hours to be seen, and the dentist will check you out and let you know what NEEDS to be done. After that, you will get an appointment for the actual work. Right now, our dental clinic is not doing any work on dependents (excludes children) because of the soldier need.

So either place you live, you can get some of the stuff taken care of! Just get started on getting you paperwork filled out!
Reply:Dental injuries that are caused by trauma, such as a car accident are considered as medical care. First, check with the local hospital and see if they have an ORAL SURGEON. (He is a dentist but has a lot more training and can do much bigger procedures.) If yes, then talk to your primary care provider and see if can give you a referral to the Oral Surgeon. When the Oral Surgeon gets the referral, his department will decide if they can do you according to the rules AND if he wants to do you.

Other alternatives to check:

See if there is a Oral Surgery residency program in the area, they may be willing to do you are a reduced fee if you have something really interesting.

How did you get the damage? If it is someone else's fault, you might have your insurance company talk to their insurance company about the injury. Lawsuit may help.

And by all means, get on the dental plan. If you are not on it, your kids probably are not either and lack of dental care for kids is a sign of poor parenting and neglect.
Reply:I assume that you, too, have Tricare(I am also an Air Force Spouse). As far as I know, we gotta pay. You can call Tricare and ask. Good luck!
Reply:If you are overseas, such as Germany, you can go to the base dental clinic and not pay for it.

If you have the dental plan in the US, such as Concordia Dental, you will still end up paying a decent amount. I had the insurance and still ended up paying a small fortune for my wife's root canal.
Reply:NO. You need to pay for family dental care in the military and you will have to first be signed up for the program on your husbands pay, then you need to go to a civilian doctor for your treatment. Then anything the Tricare Dental does not cover you will have to pay out of pocket. We paid $1700 for dental work last year with Tricare Dental coverage.
Reply:no. dental insuarncerrequires a monthly fee and a co pay.. up to 50% depending on the procedure.

if it is non cosmetic and was the result of injury, you MIGHT be able to get TRICARE to cover it.. but I have heard that it very tough to get them to do that.

Is there any dental clinic providing free or discounted gum graft surgery in L.A.?

I already overused my dental insurance this year. the Graft surgery from my current dentist cost more than $900 per tooth. Any clinic offering better price than this?

Is there any dental clinic providing free or discounted gum graft surgery in L.A.?
You might want to check dental/assistance schools....some offer excellent discounts for dentist who are training or must preform a certain amount of such surgeries to become certified..my daughter is a hygienist and when her dentist began dental implants they offers 60-70% discount...so I imagine somewhere would offer gum graph surgery discount..good luck.

Reply:Get dental surgery in India.Surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges all types of surgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as all surgery is not covered by insurance.

They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your surgery can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.If you still havent got your surgery done, you are better off getting it done in India.

my cousin got her complete dental surgery through the forerunners healthcare in India and is all praise for this company. She is more than very happy with the results.she just paid 30% of the amount she was quoted in USA.hope this helps.

Try a dental school in your city. they'll do a great job, with a professor alongside to make sure they do!

If you don't know where to start looking, check the colleges/universities in your area - or nearby bigger cities.

BEST of luck - dental pain is the worst!!!
Reply:I am in the dental field, and we see some patients at our office that have gone through an organization called "Donated Dental" this organization works with certain Dentist in the community and the dentist will donate his time and services, I would call the local dental clinic and see if they know the number of a local organization.
