If you are on benefits do you get free dental treatment if you have an NHS dentist?

The attached link will tell you more. I remember when I was on Unemployment Benefit I wasn't entitled to free treatment as I was not on Income Support. I'm not quite sure how the Jobseeker's Allowance works.

If you are on benefits do you get free dental treatment if you have an NHS dentist?
Depends on the type of benefit, check with your dentist
Reply:yes very poor one
Reply:if your on benefits check with your disclaimer book or better yet call the company to see what is covered and what is going to be at cost to you.
Reply:yes, so get all your fillings done
Reply:You can get free dental, eye tests even wigs on the nhs while claiming most benefits. To get a dentist phone the Nhs direct to register with them and they will find you a dentist. also if you need any emergency care or advice they will help straight away.
Reply:Go to your local Job-Centre, Doctors, Hospital, Dentist, Go to any of these, and ask for a H.C.1 form, and with it you will get a pre-paid return envelope, fill it in and send it off, and on it's return, it will tell you everything that you are intitled to e.g. dental, glasses+eye tests, contact lenses, wigs and fabric-supports, and even travel to hospitals for NHS treatment, depending on what benefit your on, in some of these cases, you don't have to pay at all.
Reply:yes you should but it also depends on which benefit you get but on most you get it. you dont get it if you get housing or council tax benefit only jobseekers or working tax credit
Reply:Yes
Reply:Depends what type of benefit, income support, jobseekers allowance and tax credits all apply.
Reply:depends on the benefits you are managing to scrounge
Reply:It depends what benefit(s) you are on. I was on Incapacity Benefit for a while, and I could not get a thing!!

2. If you've had a baby in the last year.

3. Job seekers allowance.

4. Income support.

5. Under 18 years old.

5. 18 years old but in full time education.

6. Over 18 years old, in full time education. ( you have to pay and claim it back )

They are the common ones, i know there are a few more but i cant think of them of hand.

Hope this helps.
Reply:yes sponger get a job xxxx
Reply:Who goes to an NHS dentist anymore? Everyone that I hear from that does has more troubles than not. See if you can't find a private one who takes benefits instead and get good treatment.
Reply:Yes if you can find a NHS dentist that is good luck
