Is dental treatment free for me?

I'm 19 and in full time education. Will I get braces for free with NHS? And how long is the waiting list, normally?

Is dental treatment free for me?
No, sorry - you've missed the boat - once you're over 18, whether or not you're in full time education, you have to pay for dental treatment. I got this off the NHS website:

"Am I entitled to free NHS dental treatment?

You are eligible to receive free services from your NHS dentist if, when the treatment starts, you are:

aged under 18,

aged 18 in full-time education,

pregnant, or have had a baby in the 12 months before treatment starts,

an NHS in-patient and the treatment is carried out by the hospital dentist, or

an NHS hospital dental service out-patient (though there may be a charge for dentures and bridges)."

I don't know about orthodontic treatment, I assume you have to pay at least something towards it if you're over 18, but you'll have to be registered with an NHS dentist in the first place to be referred to an orthodontist, so that will be your first step if you're not already registered! Sorry, no idea about waiting lists.
Reply:should be yeh depends on your family income though
