I have not been to the dentist for years but am now having problems with my teeth and need to see someone, im pregnant so am entilted to free treatment but can not find a NHS dentist anywhere, can i get free treatment at a private dentist?
Free dental treatment when pregnant?
no you can only get free treatment from the NHS, you will have to try getting hold of NHS direct, they can only point you in teh direction of the dentist, not all are taking patients.
There will be some emergency clinics in your area ring a dentist who is NHS as ask them
Godd luck with your search
Oh and i'd neve rinvest in Denplan, you are better putting the money away each month to save for your treatment, Denplan goes on past work, so if you have a mouth full of fillings and crowns you will be payign for the work already done, even if you don't need any new treatment.
Reply:Not unless they are on a plan. You might not be able to get certain things done while you are pregnant though.
Reply:yes you can get a free treatment...
Reply:must be nice...where do I sign up for that????
Reply:yes i did, i went under a private dentist while i was pregnant
Reply:No - and you'll be very lucky to find a dentist willing to take new patients on their NHS list. Think about investing in a dental plan, such as Denplan.
Reply:Try this search tool.
There must be an NHS dentist nearby...

Reply:I agree with jorsayboy - use that search to find an NHS dentist close by, even if it's a bit of a drive away it's got to be worth it. Plus remember that you still get free treatment for a year after you have the baby so if you need anything under anaesthetic you can get it done after you've had the baby.
Reply:Yes you can because dentist gets paid and you are not classed as NHS.It is common to have teeth problems when pregnant
Reply:I had the same problem when I was looking for a dentist. A private dentist does not have to give you free treatment. Do a search to find a dentist in your area that is taking on new patients using the NHS website.
Reply:if you live anywhere near a hospital attached to a dental school - check with them they accept patients usually - eg guys hospital
