I've been living abroad for the past 20 year's,so i actually don't know how everything is going on over there especially on the N.H.S, dental care, asking for a G.P, and if there's unemployment benefit for a British Citizen who maybe not capable to find a decent steady job in a few year's time. At the moment i'm living in Italy and thing's haven't been working on to well in the past 5-6 year's since all the mess that the Berlusconi Government has done.....so i was quiet interested in knowing how thing's are going on for you people, well or not? I read the British Scotsman internet magazine daily, but i'd also like a point of view from the average British Citizen! Well thank's for the info. and geeting's from Northern Italy......P.s hasen't been raining since January here, just maybe 5-6 day's , and the Italian weather forcast's say that it won't rain until Agust, i hope they're wrong outherwise we'll be having very big problem's! Last thing, how's the weather in Britain? quite hot?????
Is there free dental care service in the u.k for adult's or not?
Theoretically, yes. In practise, few dentists do NHS work any more - it pays less than private, so getting yourself on a dentist's "list" is a real problem in some areas.
It's mild and a bit wet here. So what's new? :)
Reply:Good question, lol Good luck in getting an answer. I asked Tony Blair directly and got a whole lot of waffle. Now you want someone on Yahoo to answer you, lol lol lol
Reply:only if you are in the military!!
Reply:Even on the NHS, you have to pay for treatments. (The 6-monthly examination is free, though.) If you are receiving Tax Credits, then you are exempt from dental charges.
Reply:YEP Free for everyone around the world dont worry I dont mind paying it for u out of my taxes..........
Hope you enjoy your life in italy
Reply:i receive free dental %26amp; prescriptions - i have an HC2 certicate. the still government issues benefits for low income, JSA etc. i work 15 and half hours a week, and get benefits. it is becoming increasingly harder to find an NHS dentist or doctor. the weather here is okez, a few rainy days a couple weeks ago, seems to have just been a patch. it is quite sunny over here (dont know how long it'll last though)
Reply:no no and NO! I even know someone who is married to an eastern european and every time they go to visit the inlaws, he gets his teeth done as it is exeptionally cheaper out there than here. Even nhs is expensive now. No wonder so many british peopele have manky teeth!
Reply:If there isn`t one, there should be.
Without proper gnashers to chomp food with, the older people might suffer from malnutrition.
Same as eyesight; that should also be free.
£175 for a pair of glasses? You can purchase them from £1 shops for a pound.
All you need to do if both eyes have different readings, is to buy a pair which suits the left eye and buy a pair which suits the right eye.
Take the lense from one and insert it in the other and then both eyes would be equal.
I know I`ve tried it and got a good pair of glasses for only £2.
Opticians do not like that!!!
